Data matters. It not only reveals where we’ve been but also where we must go. Our new education snapshots provide a view of progress for Māori and Pasifika learners — highlighting both hard-won gains and persistent gaps.
For Māori, the data tells a story of improvement, especially in early years and skills & qualifications achievement. For Pasifika, we see a significant reduction in Pasifika with no qualifications and steady progress towards parity in higher-level degree participation and outcomes. The data makes one thing clear: equity remains a goal, not a given.
These snapshots are design to inform provoke and support better decision-making by educators, policymakers, funders and communities. Only when we act on good data can we deliver education that truly serves all.
