WHAT WE DO #
Tūhono - We collaborate with people, schools and organisations to create better outcomes for Māori learners across Tāmaki Makaurau.
Tautoko - We advocate for rangatahi Māori and their whānau to support aspirations in education.
Whakaoho - We guide, advise and influence educators to ensure effective change for Māori learners.
RANGATAHI WRITERS' GROUP #
We have worked with tamariki and rangatahi Māori, enabling them to write stories about their communities to influence policy and local decision-making. Using these stories, the tamariki have a platform to voice their views.
In 2022, we worked with tamariki from Glen Innes School and Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Puau Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa. In 2023, we worked with rangatahi from Glen Eden Intermediate School and Henderson Intermediate School.
We have published their stories and artwork in two books, which you can view in pdf format by clicking on the covers at right. Please contact us if you'd like a hard copy.
TĀMAKI MĀORI EDUCATION FORUM (TMEF) #
We hold an annual forum for educators across Tāmaki Makaurau to come together and share recent experiences, pedagogies and resources for the betterment of Māori learners across the city.
