From humble beginnings 24 years ago in the heart of south Auckland, Te Hononga Akoranga COMET has changed and evolved alongside a rapidly transforming Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
2023 saw the most significant transformation as we chose to move away from council control to become an independent charity. As scary as this move was, it was necessary. Our independence allows us to be bolder with our approach to risk. We have a loyalty to our community, and we will act to ensure equitable progress is realised.
This report highlights the projects we drove during the year ending 30 June 2024 and provides insight into our focus moving forward. Our Strategic Roadmap (see pages 12–13) outlines how we will work with our four key communities and what we aim to achieve with them.
