Katheren Leitner
Chief Executive
Katheren joined Te Hononga Akoranga COMET as chief executive in 2023. With over 30 years of corporate and business ownership experience, she has a strong array of business transformation, leadership, people development, strategy and governance expertise.
Prior to joining COMET, she was chief executive of Asthma NZ. She remains the director of TrainingPlus, a performance improvement company she founded in 2006. She also has local and international business experience and sits on several not-for-profit boards. She is a regular presenter for Governance NZ, with qualifications in Digital Technology, Strategic Leadership, Innovation, Communication, Business Management and Coaching.
Katheren has also been involved in the fitness industry for 30 years. Much of what she has learnt about human performance, endurance and mental resilience has come from her involvement as an athlete and coach.
