Tame has been a mentor for our Education Māori programme and the Tāmaki Makaurau Education Forum for a number of years before taking on the role as COMET Auckland - Te Hononga Akoranga's Amohau.
As a representative of Te Rùnanga o Ngāti Whātua, Tame provides mana whenua advice to Auckland Council as well as the Council Controlled organisations.
He has chaired the selection panel for council’s Independent Māori Statutory Board for the initial three appointment cycles.
Tame is an director [independent] of Hōkai Nuku, formed in 2010 as the mandated voice of four mana whenua entities to collaborate on Ara Tūhono, the NZ Transport Agency's Pūhoi to Wellsford roading project.
